In Japanese society, there is no custom of using skinship to greet others on a daily basis. Even a handshake between people is a rare behavior for us.
I know that everyone has a habit of kissing and hugging the other person as a greeting. I'm sure you guys are feeling a lot of hesitation about not being able to even shake your hand to prevent the virus.
There will soon be an order in Japan forbidding us to go out freely. We need to be mindful of preventing ourselves and our families from contracting the virus exactly today, before we feel anxious about the future.
When the insecurities and frustrations that one has become too great, one is unable to have kind feelings towards others. It will have very sad consequences.
I am also feeling a very great deal of anxiety. It will probably take a very long time for us to get back to the conventional way of life. We might be hesitant to even get people together in one place.
However, no one should want such a society. Before you find yourself unable to trust others, you should continue to say kindful words to someone else. It seems to me that we need to make an effort to stay connected to people so that we don't disrupt our social communities.
